Scholarly ("we," "our," or "us") built this app to help students manage their academic life. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Scholarly is intended for users 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at the email below and we will delete the account and associated data.
Account information: your name, email address, and profile photo, collected when you sign up (via email or Google Sign-In).
Academic data you provide: class names, teacher names, grades, homework assignments, due dates, and your class schedule — either entered manually or extracted from photos you upload.
Photos you upload: images of class schedules, report cards, syllabi, or assignment sheets that you choose to photograph or upload for automatic data extraction. These photos are stored securely and used only to extract the academic information described above.
Usage data: how you interact with the app, including which features you use and how often you open the app (used for features like daily streaks).
Subscription information: if you purchase Scholarly Premium, our payment processor (Apple App Store or Google Play, via RevenueCat) handles your payment details. We do not receive or store your full payment card information.
About AI processing: When you upload a photo or ask for AI-generated content, that content is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. We do not use your academic data to train AI models, and Google's processing of this data is governed by their API terms.
Your data is stored using Supabase, a secure database and storage provider. We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections and access controls that ensure only you can access your own academic data.
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing data they process on our behalf.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your academic data with third parties for advertising purposes. We only share data with the service providers listed above, to the extent necessary to operate the app.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email.
